Looking to hire a fully Licensed Electrician to start ASAP in KITCHENER! 
Starting wage
$34.40 per hour plus $1.75 shift premium. Work is continental and on rotational shifts.

Job Summary:

The Electrician’s role is to maintain plant and production electrical equipment within a dynamic facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Is a safety advocate; lead by example by complying with all plant and Occupational Health and Safety policies.
  • Maintenance of site equipment
  • Completion of preventative and predictive maintenance inspections
  • Perform general inspection of plant electrical equipment on a daily basis.
  • Lockout any electrical equipment to satisfy all safety requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a diverse, fast-paced environment. This includes but not limited to PLCs, motor controls, safety sensors, relays, VFDs, etc.
  • Log parts out of inventory and record as necessary.
  • Maintain plant PA and intercom systems.
  • Make wiring changes according to code and update electrical schematic drawings as required.
  • Execute daily assigned work.
  • Respond to work orders and service calls in a timely fashion.
  • Report and communicate any problems or changes made, ensuring information is shared with all team members (through the use of a logbook).
  • Report all dangerous behaviour or unsafe conditions to the appropriate supervisor
  • Work well within a team environment (trades group and Production).
  • Participate in training as required
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Valid Industrial Electrician Certificate of Qualification or 309D
  • 3-5 years previous Electrician experience, preferably in an industrial/manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of PLC’s, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), high voltage systems
  • Familiar with schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, power distribution.
  • Experience in electrical repairs
  • Troubleshooting hardware by using relevant software and drawings
  • Ability to work as a member of a team with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work shifts
  • Ability to work safely at heights.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Motivated and positive attitude
